Diane Von Furstenberg has stood the test of time. She is the original designer of the wrap dress which was introduced to fashion in 1972 during the pantsuit era. The wrap became so popular so fast she was named “the most marketable female in fashion since Coco Chanel”  (www.vogue.com/voguepedia/Diane_von_Furstenberg). Diane Von Furstenberg made women want to wear dresses again. “Wrap dresses became a sartorial symbol of women’s sexual liberation”, which was much need during that time (www.vogue.com/voguepedia/Diane_von_Furstenberg). As all other great things wrap dresses reached its peak and began to decrease dramatically in sales. However in 2005 the wrap dress reappeared in stores stronger then ever. To this day wrap dresses are still very popular and appropriate for just about any occasion.
