Black and Blush

I love the contrast between the black and blush in this outfit.  I am a strong believer that black goes with everything.  This blouse and high waisted pant would have paired great with nude shoes as well.  The black is just my preference.

I really like vests and always have. This past year they have taken a new form and I love it. My favorites are the long ones. Vests are great for layering and can be paired with everything. You can dress them up or dress them down and they look great on everyone. Here are some of my favorites vests out now.

Effortless Style 1

I see this look all the time and I love it.  The best trick to looking like the most effortlessly stylish girl in the room is to pair dressy bottoms with a worn crew neck sweatshirt or tee shirt.  I am all about versatility.  Before I purchase a bottom I have to be able to style it with at least two other things that I already have in my closet.   I do that because I want to get my money’s worth out of the garment.  However, we have all been shopping for a special occasion and found that perfect over the top bottom that we just had to have.  Before you know it that dressy bottom that you loved so much finds a home in the back of the closet never to be worn again.  Whether it is sequin shorts, a velvet skirt, or colored leather pants they will all pair great with sweat shirt or tee shirt.  Play around with some of your old sweat shirts and tee shirts and you’ll see that with the right accessories, those dressy bottoms will become your favorite go to items.

Full Skirts

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved full skirts!  When I was little I used to refer to them as “cheerleader skirts”.  I just remember being so fascinated by how playful they were and how they swayed as you walked.  I cannot even begin to explain how the feeling I use to get as a young girl twirling around in my skirt!  So you only imagine my excitement when I noticed that they are now trending on tons of fashion sites!  I like the full skirt option compared to a tight mini.  Tight mini skirts will always have a special place in my heart, however they are not appropriate for all occasions.  Full skirts long or short can be perfect for any occasion if styled right.

Two Piece Sets

In the past year, two piece outfits have been so popular. I must say I am a huge fan of them. My favorite ones are the solid color crop tops with the matching high waist skirts. Lately I have been seeing a lot of patterns of two piece outfits that I like too. Two piece outfits are great because you don’t have to think about them too much, just find shoes. Weather you like shorts, skirts, or pants there is a fabulous two piece out there for you. Here are some two pieces that I found that I really like.

Winter Essentials

My winter essentials are camel color coats, leg warmers, long vests, scarves, nude nail polish, and any type of boots. Of course during the winter months the goal is to stay warm and be cute at the same time. During winter I always love layering and making out of season pieces work with winter ones. I love mixing bold colors with different shades of grey and black and I am so obsessed with long nude nails. I am excited to see all the different combinations I come up with my winter essential this year.

It has been brought to my attention multiple times that I need to purchase pajamas. The thing is I don’t like to buy them and they cost too much. In most women’s eyes they are an essential. I guess I have just gotten so accustomed to picking through my husbands old shirts to find my night attire. I am a strong believer of if you dress better you feel better. That applies at home too, so I have been looking all over to find some I like. Do not get me wrong the oversized 1X shirt will still be in rotation. I can not help it they are too comfortable to let go. Here are some of my favorites I have found so far.

Ugly Sweaters

This is the one time a year in fashion where the uglier the better. I have already been invited to at least three ugly sweater parties. Five years ago I would have never thought ugly sweater parties would be such a hit, but now everyone is having them. Me being the fashionista that I am I don’t care how ugly the sweater is I still have to look fabulous. Have fun when picking your ugly sweater and keep in mind you can make anything look good with a little imagination. Here are some ugly sweater outfits I came up with.

What to wear to the Holiday Party

image image

Finding an outfit for a holiday party can be a pain. They are a pain because I always ask myself “what am I going to wear”? “Do I already have something that I can make work”? “Do I have enough money to get something new to wear”?!! Those are the 3 questions that go through my head when someone mentions a holiday party. Holiday parties are fun because of obvious reasons, you get to dress up, do your makeup, and do everything else that goes with the word party. The key is not to stress out about the attire whether it is job holiday party or one you are attending with friends. What I like to do first is look in my closet to see what or if I have any options to work with without spending any money. As much as I shop that often works for me. However, every now and then I can not come up with anything. I then look at all my favorite stores to see what great versatile items are on sale. The thing about shopping for holiday parties is you always want to keep in mind, can I wear this again? I never want to buy something for a holiday party that I can not add something to make it look different. There are so many options to choose from that you can later transform for a night with the girls, date night with your boo, or even work. Here are some items I would love to wear at my next holiday party.

How to Remove Lipstick from Clothing

It doesn’t happen often to me but when it does it is always my favorite shirt or scarf and I literally feel like I want to die when I see it. It is never nude lipstick it is always bright red or hot pink and it is screaming hello! Removing lipstick from a shirt can be such a pain because the more you try to gently rub it out or blot it you just work itself more and more into the fabric. The very same reason you love that creamy vibrant shade of lip color is the very reason why it is so hard to get out of clothing. Oils, waxes, and pigments which are all lipstick ingredients create completely different type of stains ( There is a easy solution to this that actually works on clothing that does not have to be dry-cleaned. Hair spray will remove lipstick from clothing. Spray the fabric with hair spray and let it sit for a few minutes. Then dab the stain and place in the washer (
